If starting up your blog again had a smell, it would be the scent of a new car as your driving out of the dealership. After diddling about, I figured out how to use this site, along with the Dashboard and remembering some basic HTML that I used during the MySpace days.

To believe I began this site when I was a sophomore at uni and now I’m trying to graduate without the school pitching me another requirement – life is good.

No worries, I will not dwell and get all nostalgic now but I can finally start venting writing about things that interest me and maybe they’ll be of interest to you as well.

Now, like any self respecting European, a warm congratulations goes to dear Kate and William on a bouncing baby boy named: George Alexander Louis. I was pegging for James as the first name since all American’s can think of right now is George Zimmerman (Bad timing to be naming a baby George), but lets not get into that nastiness. I definitely feel sorry for Kate for having to push out such a boy, especially with her small frame but of course, she walks out of that hospital looking more fabulous than Giselle Bunchen strutting down the runway. Kate’s hair; don’t even get me started. I’m not surprised Pantene Pro-V hasn’t asked her to sponsor them! Either way, women will now be eying that hospital gown and begging their husbands for a girl because, who knows? A Miss George Alexander Louis could be conceived in the next few days, weeks, months.

Momma, Poppa and le Royal Baby.

Too precious.

That hair though; no words for how perfect it is.

I am ashamed to say that my updates have gone to the shitter.

This little online blog has become another victim of my lack of updates. It like a solder in the mucky ditches of war; lost and forgotten and the remnants remain until the natural ways of the world (in this case the technology world) decides to recycle what is there and create something new. When I logged onto this site I think I even spotted a speckle of dust on the corner. An image of my blog just coughing in the corner came to mind; such an amusing image.

My issue has become that whenever I have something diddling in my mind, itching to be said, I say it but then have troubles writing it down without it sounding…stupid.

Recently my life has been rather interesting. Classes began about 3-4 weeks ago so I’ve been busy juggling lab and a job. Oh wait! I never mentioned I got one! Well, little ole me got a job and no not telling you where but, I am on Lincoln Road so that sums it down to a certain area then. But yes, work and school and an attempt on salvaging a social life that once was over the summer.

My dating life has been interesting to say the least. A lot has happened but I don’t intend on dishing out all of the details because that’s just rude! I will throw out some funny situations people I know of have encountered, merely for the shits and giggles in life that we all need.

So alas! As the Doctor who created Frankenstein said, “It’s alive!’

I am back.

There comes a point in someone’s life when they stop and realize, “What the fuck am I doing?”

Those moments of self realization occur on the most unusual circumstances and in the worst situations.

I have been running away from the reality that has presented itself to me. Currently I am merely drifting and am allowing myself to just go with the flow for once. I am going against all sound mind and judgement and am allowing myself that mere potent thought of self absorption and happiness. Nothing is planned and nothing is for sure. Life itself has come to this pinnacle point of merely going as is.

Ramble.

So I’ve come back from New York better and stronger and intend to go forward with my life with this blog, school and just my social life.

I’ve come back from New York with a new appreciation for South Florida and a new love for this place that I never had before. Summer break this year will be a one to remember and I can assure myself that. It has come to my attention though that now certain things in my life are changing, I notice all the couples now on South Beach that I never use to see before.

I especially see the arguments that couples have and they are nasty.

1. A girlfriend on one of those rental bikes yelling at her boyfriend for being spontaneous at the wrong moments and that he never does what she wants.

2. Gay couple on the street corner arguing that one has made more of a sacrifice than the other in this relationship.

3. The married couple from Germany arguing how this trip will not mend what already has been broken.

This year feels as if it has been a year of broken hearts and shameful despair for someone else to love us. In the end though, we love ourselves first and learn to do that well before we can love someone else. Love is a strong emotion that evokes the worst and best of us, we just have to learn how to tame that beast.

Here is one article I saw on The Guardian that show’s true love though that comes from our parents (CLICK ON THE TITLE FOR THE ARTICLE):

UK mother agrees to donate her womb to daughter

Experts divided on whether ‘deeply complex’ procedure, previously only carried out on animals, is safe for humans

Technically its day 3 but who cares at this rate. Yesterday was a busy day filled with an early flight to JFK and then sleeping all day. Today consisted of me sleeping in till 12:30 pm (bad Carmen!) and not only that but no Insanity or biking. I decided to slack off today but indulged food-wise.

I went to the oh so holy Chipotle! I love going there and especially having the burrito bowl with steak or barbacoa. I’m a sucker for good burritos or anything spicey and fast so I fell fast for Chipotle when I went to school up here. Then, for dinner I had Outback Steakhouse which was basically a WINNING day for me. I had the steak with lobster tails and basically was in heaven.

But anyway, enough about food, now onto something interesting and more enlightening!

Going back to the Guardian. I read and skimmed a few really interesting articles.

Thailand wants Buddha tattoo ban for tourists

Culture minister says tattoos deemed ‘fashionable’ by visitors seen by many Thais as offensive and disrespectful

These ‘virginity tests’ will spark Egypt’s next revolution

The ‘virginity tests’ used by Egypt’s new rulers show the struggle for women’s rights goes on

The most traumatizing and horrendous story that I found was this one:

Nigerian ‘baby farm’ raided – 32 pregnant girls rescued

Teenage mothers were allegedly forced to give up newborns to human traffickers in southern city of Aba

I won’t evan bother putting up an image because it seriously is traumatizing to believe the ability of some people to take advantage of others.

This article was poorly put together, I admit it but hey, wanted to spread some of the word on news we don’t hear.

So toodles and tomorrow the entry will be better. Remember click on the image to go to the article.

Bye!

P.S. The Heat lost. By 2 pts. What the hell? I don’t care for sports but really?! Wow. 2 flaming pts.

So the festivities have finished and life goes on in Miami Beach. Today I was finally able to bike normally without the insane amount of crowds and it felt pretty damn good! I did my usual round by biking to the old music Starbucks, chilled with my ice coffee, people watched and then jumped back on my back. I love biking by the beach because it just feels fantastic having the wind blowing at you while you bike against it – I like the extra effort. I finally made it to South Pointe park and I love just sitting all the way at the end by the beach and just relaxing. (I love having time for myself to think)

After I finished my usual bike round, I went home and started packing. Yes, heading to NYC for 2 weeks as a mini vacay and to do some personal things. Should be fun, interesting, exciting?

I will keep you guys posted on my status in the city.

Onto something more interesting.

I love, love, love reading the Guardian. Seriously its BBC just more colorful and just more…cooler?

Anyway, since I’m the biggest dork of life. I love The Lord of the Rings! I mean c’mon, Aragorn? ;)

According to the Guardian though:

Hobbit film titles and release dates are confirmed

The Unexpected Journey and There and Back Again are the subtitles of the Hobbit movies, set for release on 14 December 2012 and 13 December 2013 respectively

Its Christmas come early! I am excited but nervous because usually movies that continue off an old story line…makes me nervous it could be bad but I’ll stay hopeful for my sake.

This isn't a mocking image, its just something to lighten the situation. It is a sad situation cause I was on 14th and Washington on Saturday. CLICK ON THE IMAGE FOR THE ARTICLE ON THE MIAMI HERALD SITE

According to the article:

Three police officers are in the hospital Monday after emptying several rounds of bullets on a driver who opened fire on South Beach.

The driver was killed; four bystanders were injured.

This is a tragedy. The city of Miami Beach hosts these events in hopes of bringing more cash-flow and stimulating the dying beaches’ economy but all this does is cause more harm. Its never pleasant to hear of people dying but yet we have to suck it up when we read of news like this. I don’t mind the massive traffic, the cat-calling or even the jerks who throw bottles on my street but please, what causes someone to pull out their gun on anyone?

The article stated that the details were a bit hazy so nothing is set into stone yet. I would like to just say this every year there is a shooting and every year people die. Can’t we just be reasonable and stop this? Can’t people realize that killing someone over a dispute or anything is no acceptable? Come down and party it up but please, keep your guns out of sight. No one wants to get hurt.

I send my condolences to the families who lost someone or whose family and friends were injured.

Step it up Miami Beach! Do you want more of these “unfortunate” events to occur?

I would also like to point out that when I was wandering the streets on Saturday, channel 10 news was out and about trying to get the word on what was going on. I saw a man protesting the current war in Iraq and Afghanistan and police officers pushed him aside to avoid the media from capturing him on film. Really? Are we trying to still hide people who are against the war? Is everyone still trying to cover up this whole ideology that people will disagree with wars? Talk about freedom of speech and democracy. Those officers basically spit on that idea by pushing that man aside.

I’m done for the day.

Peace

It is officially Day 3 of the Memorial Day weekend and there is traffic yet again but not only on Indian Creek but also Collins Avenue. People are going in and out of South Beach and basically its gonna be another mad night.

Memorial Weekend on Indian Creek on SundaySame view, just different angle of the traffic that snakes all the way in the back of the image

This is Collins Avenue packed with cars and with parking.

In unfortunately will not be going out tonight because one night of feeling like a hooker was good enough for me.

Today I spent the day with my friend Kristy, bumming around with her in her apartment. Since I don’t have cable tv I thought I’d mooch off of her for the day and she fell for it!

We watched the Lifetime Channel, whose motto sums up to be: “Men are bad, Woman are good.” Oprah must be watching this channel daily and especially Maria Shriver now! But anyway, we saw this Lifetime movie called Flirting with Forty. The main plot, according to IMDB: A divorced mother approaching her 40th birthday falls for a younger man while on vacation.

If I were Heather Locklear, I would sure as hell wouldn’t mind being divorced and being with him. Unfortunately, I’m not feeling his face. Something just seems off but if I mentally behead him, it works for me then. Anyway, I saw the movie and it was more or less decent but seriously I realized with these movies sometimes your girlfriends give bad advice; no offense.

So we watched the movie and then I saw the movie Horton Hears a Who and even though I love cartoons and Dr. Seus I have never seen this movie! I thought Katie the yellow puff ball was absolutely precious. Best line was: “In my world everybody is a horse and they all eat rainbows and poo butterflies!”

It was basically a really cute movie. Then, we saw a movie Mariah Carey was in when she was younger and honestly, I don’t want to talk about it because I’m mainly ashamed I wasted my whole day watching tv! Oh well.

In between all this crap, Kristy and I went to the corner store. Kristy walked in front of me like nothing was happening while I got to hear from these guys in a car yell out, “Damn she got a nice booty on her” and “Baby, hey blonde, baby c’mon back here and turn around”. This was the reason I didn’t go out tonight, I wanted a quiet night. Now I’m having a quiet night watching Criminal Minds. I will try and write something more interesting later just right now its a good episode of Criminal Minds and I have to final do my Insanity for the night!

Its me again and its Sunday down here on the East Coast in South Beach, FL. I just arrived maybe, 35 minutes ago from wandering Ocean Drive and Washington Ave only to be groped, eye fucked and every other possibility.

My brazilian friend, Kristy, a swimmer at St. Leo University was suppose to be the person I was gonna protect but of course, that didn’t happen as planned. I managed to get groped 14 times? Mind you, I was wearing gym clothes which consisted of leggings, a sports bra and a loose t-shirt. (Not your average club attire) Basically I used her as a buffer once we were done with 8th and Collins because I seriously couldn’t take it anymore! The worst part is that I got one guy who cupped!

Exhibit A.

The cup consists of a man forming a C-shape with his hand and scooping the Gluteus Maximus.

I mean I took it well and just moved on but there was this one woman, by God I loved her. Imagine a Fantasia look-a-like but more voluptuous. She said the following: “I swear to God if another one of dem black boys smack mah ass Imma fucking smack a bitch!” The best part was that she was talking about the guys in the area smoking pot and eyeing the meat market passing through. She became my hero for the night.

It was about 10:34 and Kristy said she wanted to see Chris Brown and good for her! I mean she even told me Rihanna couldn’t handle him and she would love to have Chris Brown smack her around! (See Rihanna, she knows want she wants and doesn’t have to write a song about it, tsk tsk tsk) We passed by the club he was performing at but unfortunately, I was being too motherly and pulled her away. Our journey continued down Washington Ave. and at this point this well built guy walked up to me and grabbed my arm saying, “Baby c’mon here, c’mon.” I politely declined only to be blocked by the lovely tattoo artists on…13th? One asked for a simple hi-five so I was like fuck yeah I hi-five! Kristy then walked by while in front of me the other tattoo artist insisted on a free hug. Now brah, you want a hug, ask your buddy or the drunk girl behind me, kay? Kristy pulled me aside while in the back I hear the well built guy yell out, “Baby, I want my hug. Come back my little snow bunny, I like dem snow bunnies!”

Yes, my hooker name is now Snow Bunny. I wish I were kidding but I am not. Basically my new hook line will be: My name is Carmen, but you can call me Snow Bunny.

We ventured the streets, ran into some friends and finally arrived home. The journey was a long one and treacherous but oh well. Maybe tomorrow night people will start leaving but that’s me being too optimistic I mean c’mon, Snow Bunny gotta work her corner. ;)

Well, thanks to that guy, I think I figured my Halloween Costume!

My street walker and Halloween Costume. Thank you buff guy from 13th and Washington Ave!

Well, hopefully you stay safe and enjoy! And remember if you’re in trouble, those cops on their bikes will bike their way to your rescue, drrrrrring drrrrring!

Peace ;)
